No Nothing Sensitive Moisture Shampoo Review: My First Impression After 50
I wasn’t looking for another shampoo. I was looking for something that made my hair and scalp feel better.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become much more particular about the products I use on my hair. I’m less interested in what smells the prettiest or has the fanciest bottle and more interested in how my hair and scalp actually feel after I use something.
That’s what caught my attention about No Nothing Sensitive Moisture Shampoo.

It’s made with sensitive scalps in mind and has no added fragrance, which was something different for me. So rather than trying to decide how I felt about it based on the product description, I wanted to simply wash my hair like I normally would and see what happened.
My First Wash
One of the first things I noticed was the lather.
It lathered beautifully.
For some reason, I had expected a shampoo designed for sensitive scalps to have less lather, but that wasn’t my experience at all. It worked easily through my hair, and when I rinsed it out, both my hair and scalp felt clean.
What Does Fragrance-Free Shampoo Actually Smell Like?
This was something I was curious about.
“No added fragrance” doesn’t necessarily mean a product has absolutely no scent.
I could smell the ingredients while I was washing my hair, but I didn’t get the strong, perfumey fragrance that often comes with shampoo. For someone who doesn’t want their hair products competing with perfume, lotion, or other scented products, I can definitely see the appeal.
What My Hair Looked Like the Next Morning
After shampooing, I followed with my regular conditioner. I want to mention that because I don’t want to attribute the condition or manageability of my hair entirely to the shampoo.
I towel dried my hair, brushed it out and then did something decidedly unglamorous:
I went to bed with damp hair. 😂
No blowout. No carefully styled “after” shot.
I simply let my hair finish drying naturally overnight.
The next morning gave me a much more realistic look at how my hair felt and looked after my first wash.
My First Impression
So far, I’m really happy with my first experience.
The shampoo lathered well, my hair and scalp felt clean, and I appreciated not having a strong fragrance lingering in my hair.

But this is exactly that — a first impression.
Hair products are something I prefer to use for a while before deciding how I really feel about them, especially when I’m trying something because of how my hair and scalp feel.
I’m going to continue using No Nothing Sensitive Moisture Shampoo over the next couple of weeks and come back with an update.
Sometimes finding what works for our hair as we get older isn’t about adding more products.
Sometimes it’s about paying a little more attention to what our hair has been trying to tell us.
